We apologize for the shortened show. Due to technical issues with the internet connection, we were forced to edit a small segment of the program. We are working to restore full service for next weeks program. Thank you for your understanding.
August kicks off with another great line up of guests joining us for the show. This Sunday, Marie and Eric welcome Author and Host of That’s So Bizarre Becky Pourchot to the program. We’ll be talking about her newly released book Open Souls and her You Tube video series, That’s so Bizarre.
Becky Meyer Pourchot was a writer before she knew she was a writer. She was the kid who could tell scary stories at a Halloween party, giving everyone goose bumps, then the next day proudly make her family laugh at the dinner table. In her debut book, I Look Better In Binary, Becky draws on her childhood experiences as a Jewish kid growing up in the Midwest to create a collection of short stories that are, at once, hilarious and touching. Becky credits her family, friends, and one special teacher for the encouragement she needed to become the writer she is today.
New from author Becky Pourchot comes a Open Souls. A story about passion, rage, and the darkness that hides within.
In a Pandora-like tale, Brad, a gruff tattoo artist, and Olivia, a sexually repressed cupcake baker, discover an ancient box in St. Augustine, Florida. When the box is opened a menacing shadow is released, causing the two strangers to descend into madness.
As their lives become entwined, Brad and Olivia find their former selves deteriorating. Peace with their dark side can only be made when they accept who they really are.
That’s so Bizarre is a web show that features the stories of ordinary people who experience the weird, the wild, and the wonderful.
To learn more about Becky, order her book Open Souls or find out more about That’s so Bizarre visit Becky’s website

This week on the show, Eric and Marie welcome Jeff and Denise Checker of the Demon Hunter Society and Pastor Frank Queen. We’ll be discussing Ghosts, Hauntings and the Demonic along with some of the cases where Jeff, Denise and Frank have investigated in cases they believe were demonic in nature. Also joining us will be Shawn and Marianne Donley of Dark Shadow Ghost Tours and Panic’D for another edition of the Haunted Spotlight. About Jeff, Denise and the Demon Hunter Society: The Demon Hunter Society is: Jeff Checker, Director and Team lead. Jeff’s wife Denise is Associate Team Lead. We also utilize the skills of our nephew Nathan Smith, and our friend Eric Huff, who are both Christian warriors as well. Jeff Checker has been a Christian all of his life. Jeff has studied Demonology, as well as the Bible for numerous years. He is currently working towards his Doctoral in Christian Counseling from The Institute of Christian Works. He and his wife Denise have both been given the gift of discernment of spirits from the Holy Spirit, enabling them to recognize the presence of demons. They have also been given the authority from God the Father to dispel such evil. The Word of God indicates such gifts will be given, especially in the end times, when Satan is seeking to devour us like a lion. The Demon Hunter Society uses both hardware and software used by secular “ghost hunting” teams (in order to be on a level plane with the secular community in regards to capturing evidence), coupled with spiritual gifts. We both can ascertain the presence of spirits, and then the team cleanses the home or persons of the residual effects. We only have the authority because of our faith in God and His Word. We alone cannot win the battle; we are mere vessels for Gods Work. Jeff and Denise have both had real-life experiences with fallen angels masquerading as “ghosts”, and they are here to tell you “You show me a ghost, and I’ll show you the devil!”. (TM) Pastor Frank Queen is a ordained pastor who has served as a church leader and pastor at several churches across the Eastern and Midwestern United States. Currently he resides in upstate Michigan where he is the Pastor of a church. For more information on the Demon Hunter Society visit http://thedemonhuntersociety.webs.com.

Due to popular demand and our returning guest Serial Killer Month is extended one additional week as we wrap up the theme month with Kevin M. Sullivan.
Marie Samuels is back fresh from Vacation and just in time to help me welcome back Best Selling True Crime Author Kevin M. Sullivan. Kevin’s appearance a few weeks back was cut short due to a power outage caused by severe weather, however he’s back this week to talk about his book “Vampire; The Richard Chase Murders.”
From The Bestselling Author Of THE BUNDY MURDERS Comes The Story Of ‘The Vampire of Sacramento’ VAMPIRE is the tale of a diabolical, homicidal madman running amok, mutilating and murdering the unsuspecting residents in the quiet neighborhoods of Sacramento, CA. His diabolical and unrelenting desires, not just to kill his victims but to drink their blood, unleashed a terror within the city unlike anything the residents had ever known.
About the book:
By the time Richard Trenton Chase graduated high school, everyone knew he was strange. But no one had any idea how bizarre he’d become, or what dark impulses were flowing through his troubled brain. The transformation from the outwardly strange young man to the diabolical killer he ultimately became, was gradual and would not become known until it was too late. First it was the killing of small animals and birds, and the drinking of their blood. However, when these sacrifices failed to satiate his needs, Richard Chase would seek out the highest form of life, and the city of Sacramento, California would react in horror to the hideous murders and mutilations committed by his hands. For those living in the quiet neighborhoods where the murders occurred, it was nothing less than a time of terror until the fiend was captured.
VAMPIRE: The Richard Chase Murders is an in-depth look into the life and disturbed mind of a killer, his family, and his many victims, the living as well as the dead. Within these pages you’ll discover what it was like for the police, and what a difficult job they had finding a killer they knew wouldn’t stop until he was apprehended. It was a race against time, in a series of murders that would stun even the most hardened investigators. It is the story of a city under siege, held captive by the man whose appetite for blood could not be satiated.
From the book:
“On August 3, Richard Chase was sitting in the hot sun along a rocky area of Pyramid Lake, Nevada, some two hundred miles from Sacramento. He was completely naked and was covered in blood. He wasn’t in a hurry, just sitting there. Approximately one-half to three-quarters of a mile away (and across the lake) sat his Ford Ranchero. Inside the vehicle were two rifles, a .22 caliber and a Marlin .30-30 lever-action. Both weapons had blood on them, as did most of the inside of the vehicle. There was a white bucket, too, which contained blood and a liver.”
From the Kevin M. Sullivan
Writing the story of Richard Chase was both fascinating and appalling. Fascinating, because once the horrific murders began, it was literally a race against time for the police as they worked tirelessly to stop the slaughter, and appalling, due to the fiendish nature of the crimes being committed by this strange, and for a time, very elusive killer. Visiting the sites of these murders, and following closely the trail of Richard Chase in the spring of 2012 while conducting research for the book, gave me at least a “feel” for what it must have been like during that hellish period in Sacramento’s history.

He teaches courses in criminology, sociology of deviance, media and crime, and criminal justice. June is another topic theme month as we look into the minds and motives of some of America’s most notorious serial killers. We start off the month by welcoming back Author Jeff Mudgett, great great grandson to America’s first serial killer H.H. Holmes. We’ll talk to Jeff about his startling discovery of his heritage to Holmes and his book written on the life and brutal murders of H.H. Holmes. About Jeff: Jeff Mudgett was living a normal life as a practicing attorney when at age 40 he was thrust into the most harrowing chapter of his life. Learning the facts about his ancestry plunged Mudgett into a full investigation about the forefather from which he unexpectedly learned he was descended, the infamous serial killer, H. H. Holmes. His book, Bloodstains, takes readers through history, perhaps learning more than they wished to know about the terror and horror Holmes (his great-great-grandfather, Herman Webster Mudgett) reigned down upon innocent victims during the late 19th century. Using the Holmes’ diaries, as depicted in the story, Jeff Mudgett gives us a glimpse into mysteries yet unsolved. For those who are not familiar with H. H. Holmes and his “Murder Castle” built during the construction of the World’s Columbain Exposition in Chicago in 1893, Mudgett’s book, BLOODSTAINS, tells the story from a completely new angle, a personal history combined with methodical research into an ancestor no one would willingly claim. Herman Webster Mudgett was a swinder, a con man, a womanizer and, at his worst, H. H. Holmes, the most atrocious serial killer of all time. The success of BLOODSTAINS has been a phenomena for a self-published, first time author. Turning down offers from publishers, Mudgett decided to keep control of the book and the way the story was told – his acquaintance with the subject matter couldn’t be turned over to editors and publishers to change. BLOODSTAINS is Jeff Mudgett’s story and Jeff Mudgett’s book. www.bloodstainsthebook.com
