This week Eric, Lon and Amy welcome Sylvia Shults to the program.
Sylvia Shults has been a paranormal investigator for several years. She began her career as a ghost hunter
as a result of doing the research for her nonfiction book Ghosts of the Illinois River (Quixote Press, 2010). Her fascination with ghosts dates back to her childhood, as she is an avid reader who was raised on Grimm’s Fairy Tales. A few years ago, Shults was inspired to write a collection of people’s supernatural experiences at the Peoria State Hospital in Bartonville, Illinois. This project quickly swelled into Fractured Spirits: Hauntings at the Peoria State Hospital. The book incorporates the history of the asylum as well as the many ghost stories that have arisen out of the asylum’s abandonment. In an effort to separate fact from fiction, Shults thoroughly explores the true history of the hospital.
“It’s fascinating,” she says. “The Peoria State Hospital was a place of great advances in mental health care. Was there agony there? I don’t doubt it. Mental illness is an agonizing thing. So is alcoholism. So is TB.
But that’s not nearly the whole story of this remarkable institution. There was also incredible tenderness and caring. Dr. George Zeller was responsible for unprecedented reforms in the field of mental health care. I feel incredibly
fortunate to have been able to write a book that not only tells some really unnerving ghost tales, but also the true stories of Dr. Zeller and his dedicated staff.” Fractured Spirits: Hauntings at the Peoria State Hospital is a result of years of research. Shults spoke to dozens of people who have had paranormal experiences at the abandoned asylum. She has also done many investigations of her own. The book, and Shults’ research, was featured on an episode of Ghost Hunters (“Prescription for Fear”, which aired January 30, 2013).
Shults lives in Illinois with her husband. She works at the Fondulac District Library, mostly in order to feed her book addiction. She also serves as the Publicity Director for Dark Continents Publishing. In addition to nonfiction, she also writes romance and horror. She is the first to admit that there is a fine line between the two.
“Sylvia Shults’s FRACTURED SPIRITS is a fascinating, touching, creepy, riveting read — a sort of Central Illinois Ghost Adventures — set in the defunct chambers of the Peoria State Hospital. Shults is a natural story-teller, and she gets at something deeper and more poignant here than mere phantoms…”

His academic degrees are from: Greenfield Community College, Greenfield, Massachusetts; University of New Hampshire—Durham; North Adams State College, in North Adams, Massachusetts, and University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee. He also attended Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Kewaunee taught anthropology for one year at North Adams State College and later taught dowsing and psychic development at the Wisconsin Society for Psychic Reasearch—Milwaukee. As a world authority on the Bigfoot/Sasquatch phenomenon, he has meticulously researched the subject for the last 55 years. Mr. Lapseritis is also a social scientist and both a Sasquatch and ET “contactee.” As a world traveler, an amateur naturalist, and avid backpacker with wilderness skills, Mr. Lapseritis spent five years out of the country living in England, East Africa, and Japan, later immigrating to Australia, and has visited over 40 countries around the globe. He was in the Himalayas in 1968 investigating the Yeti, or “abominable snowman.” In 1973, he conducted an ethnographic study in conjunction with the Colombian Institute of Anthropology in Bogota, living amongst the Tukuna Indians of Upper Amazonia. In 1979, scientist Kewaunee Lapseritis was first telepathically contacted by a Sasquatch and an ET simultaneously, which was the shock of his life! To further complicate matters, the contact changed him and he developed psychic ability overnight, which triggered a spiritual transformation. At the time, he was assistant director of an urban Indian agency, and had been working as a hypnotherapist part-time, as well as lecturing at the Medical College of Wisconsin—a background that left him ill-prepared for such a happening. Kewaunee has been a guest on over 350 radio and television talk shows. To date, he has been featured in 23 books and is often featured in the international press, including various newspapers. Some of the publications are: Australia’sPeople and Post magazines, OMNI magazine, Magical Blend, Cryptozoology (journal), Wildfire, Fate, Argosy, UFO magazine, Health Consciousness, and many others. In 1991, he was on a panel of scientists on a two-hour Bigfoot documentary on national television. Plus, he has appeared on The Discovery Channel twice. He has lectured and presented papers throughout the United States 70 different times. There are people all over the globe encountering Bigfoot and UFOs simultaneously while the beings share information about themselves, human history, and the future of our planet. If anyone wishes to share in confidence their telepathic conversation(s) and experiences with the Sasquatch people, please feel free to contact this author and he will answer all correspondence personally. Visit Kewaunee’s website www.sasquatchpeople.com.

Eric, Lon, Sean and Amy welcome Dustin Pari this week to BTE Radio. Dustin is a paranormal investigator & lecturer. Dustin is a former television personality and member of ‘TAPS’, appearing on ‘Ghost Hunters’, ‘Ghost Hunters International’ & ‘Destination Truth.’ He has co-authored two books with Barry Fitzgerald ‘The Complete Approach-The Scientific and Metaphysical Guide to The Paranormal’ and ‘So My Home is Haunted…Now What?’ After leaving television, Dustin founded ‘The Patch Ministry’, a faith-based outreach group.. Dustin writes on his website: Just a little about me- I’m your average, every day guy who just has had very good fortune with being in the right place at the right time. But as they say- luck is what happens when hard work meets opportunity. I am a proud father to three wonderful children and I’m very happily married to the girl of my dreams, all of which I miss greatly while traveling to film the show around the globe. I have been interested in the paranormal since I was a child and I’ve been investigating since my early teens with friends at local hot spots. When I’m not hunting ghosts, I’m busy holding down three “normal” jobs. In my free time (if there is any) I enjoy spending time with my family, working on classic cars, writing satirical social commentaries, playing Guitar Hero, eating cereal and watching cartoons. As to why I am still pursuing this field today–well, I am a very spiritual individual and I am constantly looking for proof of the afterlife, not for myself but for others. If nothing more than to show nonbelievers that there is something more out there to consider- and that maybe- we can all live in this life, just being a little nicer to each other. I love the paranormal community because it is filled with people just like me. People who are just doing the best they can with the resources and time they have available. Lets face it, you could do anything for a day job, but once you have that life changing encounter, your heart will always lead you back to this field and to the unknown. I thank all of you for your support of my ventures both past, present and future. http://paranormalrockstar.com/ www.dustinpari.com.

BTE Radio 3/23/2014 With Steve Jones
BTE Radio is proud to return to Planet Paranormal and we return with this great interview from this past Sunday March 23, 2014.
This week, Eric, Lon and Sean welcome long time Paranormal and Forest Giant Investigator Steve Jones. Steve Jones is a Paranormal Investigator and A Bigfoot Researcher. Steve has over 30 years experience in Radio and TV. Currently he is the host of Destination: Outdoors which can be heard on Fox Sports 1350 Am Mondays at 6 PM and seen Mondays at 6:00 pm on the Armstrong Cable System. Steve has been researching Bigfoot since 1990 and saw his first creature in 1992. Steve has been researching the paranormal since 2007. In 2008, Steve joined Team Spectre on a few local ghost investigations. The most important thing Steve has learned in his years of paranormal research is that you have to be skeptical of everything you see and hear. Not every shadow in the woods or bump in the night is a Bigfoot or Ghost. Steve has seen enough over the years to believe there are earth bound spirits that co-exist with us. Some seem to be stuck here. Others seem not to know why they are dead or have no intentions of leaving because of unfinished business. One thing Steve knows for sure is you wont find the answers sitting on his couch watching TV. Steve has also worked with Robert W. Morgan investigating Bigfoot sightings and cases in Central and Southern Ohio for over 20 years. Chester Moore Jr. is one of the most widely recognized and respected wildlife journalists, lecturers and field researchers in North America. A lifelong outdoorsman and naturalist, Moore has launched several zoological expeditions, ranging from the wilds of Canada to the Louisiana Bayou to jungles South America, in search of such elusive beasts as the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker and the Hairy-Hominid known colloquially as Bigfoot.
Renowned for his journalistic, conservationist and photographic excellence, Moore has been the recipient of multiple awards, and has also lent his media expertise to numerous television and radio programs, including Two episodes of Ted Nugent’s “Spirit of the Wild” PBS series and Six episodes of Fox Sports
“Outdoor Adventures”. Most recently he has completed the “Southern Fried Bigfoot” documentary, which will be released sometime this year. Since 1992, Moore has written over 300 articles, which have appeared in such magazines as The Anomalist, Texas Parks & Wildlife, Adventure Outdoors, Animals & Men and Louisiana Sportsman, and has published nearly 1,000 newspaper stories, covering a variety of cryptozoological and non-cryptozoological subjects. His columns on hunting, angling, and wildlife appear weekly in the Port Arthur News and Orange Leader newspapers and monthly in Texas Fish & Game magazine. Moore has also taken the time from his hectic schedule to author no less than five books, on topics ranging from the Southern Bigfoot phenomenon to angling techniques for Texas Trout fishermen. His most recent publication: “Boogers, Bears, Birds and Beasts: Cryptozoology
in the American South”, which he co-authored with acclaimed Professor Link Hullar, covers a multitude of topics including the Fouke Monster mystery, which has become popularized as “The Legend of Boggy Creek”, giant alligator garfish, mysterious cats, presumed to be extinct red wolves and many others! A dedicated cryptozoological investigator, Moore is the creator of the site and is the host and founder of the annual Southern Crypto Conference, which presents awards to other industrious investigators and brings together individuals from numerous scientific and cryptozoological disciplines for the purpose of disseminating information and informing the public regarding the latest Southern cryptozoological developments. The proceeds from this event, as well as all profits made from Moore’s books, are funneled back into field research and into the “Cryptokeeper Wildlife Habitat Education Fund”, which has
created five new displays relating the importance of hardwood bottomlands conservation, and will be donated to schools throughout Texas. These displays will be accompanied with a curriculum created by Moore, which teaches children about conservation and endangered species. This is yet another reason why Moore’s work is held in such high esteem. In addition to his cryptozoological exploits, Moore is also an avid adventurer, musician, scuba diver and martial artist. He has caged dived with great white sharks of the coast of the Farallon Islands, and also serves as the host of “Chester Moore Outdoors” a weekly radio program on Newstalk AM 560 KLVI, where some of his esteemed colleagues include; Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Laura Schlessinger and Coast to Coast a.m. hosts Art Bell and George Noory.

***We apologize for the quality of this show as Skype and technical difficulties caused some issues during the live broadcast***
However this is a fantastic interview with Scotty that you don’t want to miss!
Eric and Lon welcome back our good friend Scotty Roberts to the show to talk about his new book the rise and fall of the Nephalihim, Intrepid Magazine and the upcoming con.
Scott Alan Roberts is the founder and publisher of Intrepid
Magazine, an journal dedicated to politics, science, UFOs and unexplained phenomena. He is an accomplished illustrator and
writer of fiction and non-fiction occupationally hovering in the advertising ghettos of Minneapolis & Saint Paul, Minnesota. He has been interviewed on scores of radio shows, is a former
political talk radio show host and was editor-in-chief of SyFy’s
Ghost Hunters official publication, TAPS ParaMagazine.
Scott attended bible college and theological seminary, pursuing his Masters in Divinity (Mdiv) while working as a youth director.
During his time in academia, he focused on his persona passions for history, theater and art. His religious studies were an obvious springboard for his continuing interest in spirituality, and his research of paranormal phenomena expanded throughout the subsequent years. After his ministerial
education, Scott’s career took a sharp left turn, and he went on to spend the next two-and-a-half decades as a creative ad man. He launched a small comic book publishing effort, Bent Nail Comix, writing and illustrating stories, some of which were eventually pitched for animated television. He co-created the
highly successful Ancient Heroes trading card series, and began development on a line of young readers books. He authored and illustrated his first historical novel, The Rollicking Adventures of Tam O’Hare, an anthropomorphized historical novel set in Tudor England, Ireland, and Scotland, which garnered broad attention with teen and college readers. Scott Alan Roberts is a contemplative, spiritual man of consideration who sees intelligence, wit, justice and touch as quantifiable necessities. He values a good pipe, a stout pint, and considers himself a purist when it comes to single malt highland Scotch – which he deems not a tool of inebriation, but rather an enlightened
repast to be shared with colleagues and like-minded pedagogues of philosophy and hob-knobbing banter. He does not shy away from a good fight – whether academic or existential – and has had a few classical brawls in his day. However, in keeping with what he sees as his paradoxical nature, Scott prefers employing
words over weapons, wit above profanity, spirituality above religion, stalwartness above inconstancy. “As I grow older,” Roberts says, “my jaded cynicism is wholly tempered by my desire to not become an ass.” His scholarship is true, his humor is wry, his mind is fertile, and his love is deep.
Scott lives with his wife and children, just across the Minnesota border in rural Wisconsin, where he remains an avid Vikings fan.
